Raising Money For Adoption

I don't typically get too personal on this blog, since it's my business blog, but I have a request. We have a foster daughter, who has been with us since she was two months old. She is now 16 months old. Her adoption finalization ceremony is just about a month away. We are needing to raise $500 for the legal fees for her adoption.

I am having an "Adoption Sale" in my Etsy shop. I'm offering 10% off of any item in my shop, until we have raised the money. Please use the code, ADOPTION10 when you place your order. I would love it if you would share this on Facebook and Twitter, and with all of your friends. Please feel free to share it on your own blog as well.

Just to let you know, 80% of the sales will go towards our legal fees, and the other 20% will still go to Hands at Work in Africa. That will not fall by the wayside, as we try to raise money for the adoption.

I am also having this same sale in my other Etsy shop: Blackberry Cottage Home Decor, where I sell wall art, or digital prints that you can have printed at your local photo lab, and also pillow covers.

Two New Designs in One Day!

These days, life is SO busy! I'm in the middle of opening a new shop on Etsy.com (home decor), I'm working on my first ever quilted baby quilt, complete with binding. We're still trying to "move in", which literally translated, means that we are still unpacking boxes, even though our move-in date to our "new" home was February 1st. And then there's the business of filling orders. I'm loving it! But it's not giving a whole lot of time to create new designs. So, yesterday, I determined that I was going to sit down and create. What you see above is what I came up with. The simple anniversary invitation can also be found in my shop as a birthday invitation.

Times of Much Change

The landscape of our family has changed. We are now a family of FIVE, for however long God allows it. We had a baby girl placed with us through the foster system towards the end of November, and things have really changed since then. Our little man turned 3 in early November and started special needs preschool the very same week that we got the baby girl! Our 16 year old isn't quite sure what to make of a very, VERY energetic 3 year old and a sweet, but needy baby girl, but he loves them both dearly.

I am still creating and selling photo greeting cards, and have just today listed a couple of new designs in the shop. I'd love to hear from you if you have something in mind that you are looking for!
